Once upon a time…I was the little princess and you were the brave knight. When the dragons would come you would slay them. We would hide up in the tree house and tell each other things no body else knew. Until one day you never came to our castle. You left our fairytale and left me waiting for you in the cold. You said you were trying to be an adult, but I said finding the beauty in everything makes one happy and imagining the impossible is the first step into making it possible. And doing those two things made me more mature than you. But we were no longer children. Our feelings had grown and our skin longed for human touch. But you couldn’t believe I could love you for the mess you were. So you became a coward and tried to take my innocence, but I was too clever. For you had turned into one of the monsters you used to protect me from. I found your old sword and slayed the last dragon standing between me and my prosperous freedom and saved all the other young maidens from your silver tongue and poisonous touch. Turns out I was the fearless warrior and you were a frog no princess would kiss. And I traveled the world,went to rock concerts, got a few tattoos,always stayed fit,always stayed happy, got a dog and all the cats I wanted,read a few books and watched a few films,followed my dreams sang,danced and captivated the masses,finally found a Prince who loved all the same things (oh did I mention he was British?) AND I lived happily ever after. And you didn’t. HA.
